Riga - Central Market -

the central Market is the central and largest market of Riga and is located in the city center. And even now it is still one of the biggest markets among the other European city markets. Its area is approx. 72,000 square meters. The average number of market visitors is ranging from 40,000 ot 160,000 per day. In the 1930 when the Central Market was first opened according to the specialists (without an exaggeration) it was the largest and most advanced market in the world. When government decided to construct the project, first then bought back in Courland abandoned by German army aircraft (Zeppelin) hangars which today have become the main symbol of the Riga Central Market.
